DraftSeason story
2025 · Commissioner's Premier Cup VII
The early receiver run had uneven returns
Three straight receiver picks after Saquon Barkley produced very different returns: Davante Adams supplied 183.8 lineup points, while Mike Evans supplied 27. Barkley's own 169.6 points in 13 starts did not translate into a team-wide RB edge. Across weeks 1-14, including later additions, the RB slots averaged 11.6 points per start against the other managers' median of 14.3; WR was much closer at 10.8 versus 11.0.

The draft allocation and the realized position output are separate observations. Injury and availability effects are not separated; low realized scoring is not a decision-quality grade.
Supporting facts
- Whole draft: 4 RB, 5 WR, 2 TE, 2 QB, 1 DEF, 1 K.
- Round 1, pick 4: Saquon Barkley; 13 original-spell starts / 169.6 points; all own starts 13 / 169.6 including later reacquisitions.
- Round 5, pick 57: Tony Pollard; 9 original-spell starts / 98.8 points; all own starts 9 / 98.8 including later reacquisitions.

- Round 8, pick 88: Jaylen Warren; 10 original-spell starts / 123.7 points; all own starts 10 / 123.7 including later reacquisitions.
- Fixed RB slots: 326 points, 28 occupied starts and 28 opportunities. Drafted-player totals may include FLEX; the slot comparison does not.
- Other managers' median points per occupied RB start: 14.3; this manager: 11.64. The season slot result includes later acquisitions, not only the named draft picks.
- Saquon Barkley: round 1, pick 4; 13 original-draft-spell starts / 169.6 points. All-own starts, including later reacquisitions: 13 / 169.6 points.
- Davante Adams: round 4, pick 40; 13 original-draft-spell starts / 183.8 points. All-own starts, including later reacquisitions: 13 / 183.8 points.
- Mike Evans: round 3, pick 33; 3 original-draft-spell starts / 27 points. All-own starts, including later reacquisitions: 3 / 27 points.
- RB fixed slots, 2025 weeks 1-14: 326 points / 28 occupied starts in 28 opportunities; stored rate 11.64, other-11 manager median 14.3. Rates in the body round the underlying points/start ratio. Full-season slots include acquisitions and exclude FLEX.
- WR fixed slots, 2025 weeks 1-14: 454.2 points / 42 occupied starts in 42 opportunities; stored rate 10.81, other-11 manager median 11.01. Rates in the body round the underlying points/start ratio. Full-season slots include acquisitions and exclude FLEX.
- Drafted-player contributions can include FLEX and stop at first departure unless explicitly described as all-own; they are not the numerator for fixed-position output. Allocation and realized scoring do not establish causes or decision quality.
- Rationale: The contrast is between uneven early receiver contributions and the larger RB scoring deficit, not a claim that any pick caused that deficit.
- 3 starts (18.3 known points) have uncertain acquisition origin.
- 2 weekly roster arrays have no exact within-window replay state; snapshot timing is unresolved.
