DraftSeason story
2025 · Commissioner's Premier Cup VII
The middle rounds did not solve RB and WR
The RB and WR shortfall was not simply a lack of picks: nillanp used rounds 4-12 on those positions after drafting George Kittle in round 3. Terry McLaurin and Isiah Pacheco together returned 32.7 lineup points in six starts. Across weeks 1-14, including pickups, RB averaged 10.0 points per start versus the peer median of 14.3 and WR 8.4 versus 11.0. Kittle contributed 87.8 points, while the full TE slot beat its benchmark, 10.3 versus 9.4.

The shortfall was in realized RB/WR output despite the intervening picks; selecting an early TE is not established as its cause. Injury and availability effects are not separated; low realized scoring is not a decision-quality grade.

- RB fixed slots, 2025 weeks 1-14: 280.8 points / 28 occupied starts in 28 opportunities; stored rate 10.03, other-11 manager median 14.3. Rates in the body round the underlying points/start ratio. Full-season slots include acquisitions and exclude FLEX.
- WR fixed slots, 2025 weeks 1-14: 350.9 points / 42 occupied starts in 42 opportunities; stored rate 8.35, other-11 manager median 11.01. Rates in the body round the underlying points/start ratio. Full-season slots include acquisitions and exclude FLEX.
- TE fixed slots, 2025 weeks 1-14: 143.9 points / 14 occupied starts in 14 opportunities; stored rate 10.28, other-11 manager median 9.44. Rates in the body round the underlying points/start ratio. Full-season slots include acquisitions and exclude FLEX.
- Drafted-player contributions can include FLEX and stop at first departure unless explicitly described as all-own; they are not the numerator for fixed-position output. Allocation and realized scoring do not establish causes or decision quality.
- Rationale: Nine consecutive middle-round RB/WR selections make resource allocation relevant; low realized output does not establish poor decision-making or its cause.
- 1 starts (6.6 known points) have uncertain acquisition origin.
